Microsoft Office on Android with CloudOn From ColomboZone

Back in April this year, we had covered about a tool, CloudOn, which brought Microsoft Office to iPad. The same company has now made available Office for Android tablets. CloudOn lets you use your tablet to create, view, and edit files directly in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint. These applications will work the way you expect them to, and your files will look the way you want them to. Similar to the iPad version, the Android version is also free of cost. You can start creating Office documents from your Android tablets.

Other than creating new documents and saving them, you can also integrates with Box, Dropbox  and Google Drive using the app. Use CloudOn to connect with these services and open, edit and store your files in one place. CloudOn is also equipped with an Adobe Reader and a File Viewer that lets you open and view virtually any file type, including PDF, JPG, PNG, GIF, etc.

Cloudon Android options
The CloudOn Workspace allows you to;
  • Use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint on your Android tablet to create or edit documents.
  • Rename, delete and manage documents with your Box, Dropbox or Google Drive accounts
  • View virtually any type of file, including: PDF, JPG, PNG, GIF, etc.
  • Send files via email directly from the workspace
  • Display, edit or create charts, change formatting, spell check, insert comments, etc into any Word, Excel or PowerPoint files
  • Track changes while reviewing Word documents
  • Use pivot tables and insert formulas in Excel workbooks
  • Display and edit transitions in PowerPoint slides and present in full PowerPoint mode (not in PDF)
  • Automatically save documents to avoid losing changes
Although you cannot get all the features, this is still useful to create and share documents on the move from your tablet.

Quickly Manage your Desktop Settings with Trim Desk From ColomboZone

Windows allows you to customize desktop by selecting the wallpapers, icons for apps and files, hiding thetaskbar or icons and many more features. But not all these features are located at one single place, so its not easy to change these settings frequently. TrimDesk is a freeware app for Windows which lets you customize and manage your desktop settings quickly and easily. The tool allows you to present content on your desktop in whatever way you like and also can be used as a simple launch pad for your applications.
From the main interface, you can hide or display icons, gadgets, taskbar and the background image. You can add more custom actions using the sets tab. You can configure multiple sets using the advanced config. There is also option to set the hotkeys for these tasks. For example, if you want to hide the taskbar for some reason, simply press the hot key instead of manually hiding it from the Windows settings.
Trimdesk settings
You can also access these features from the main menu of the app. The app is pretty small and sits on the desktop allowing you to perform quick actions or change settings. You can also set transparency for the app and minimize it to smaller size.

  • Start applications with your favorite desktop settings
  • Manage predefined sets with various desktop configurations
trimDesk is useful for;
  • Giving presentations
  • Protect your privacy at work
  • Taking clean screenshots
  • Demonstrating miscellaneous documents
  • Processing batch files
There is a pro version of TrimDesk available which allows users to save their settings so that they can quickly change all features in one go. Overall, TrimDesk is a great free app to quickly access and manage Windows desktop config using hotkeys.
