Common attributes of mind include perception, reason, imagination, memory, emotion, attention, and a capacity for communication. A rich set of unconscious processes are also included in many modern characterizations of mind. Do you know why lights are shown usually red when a vehicle is braked ? Its because human eyes cant perceive the distance of objects either coming near or going far away properly in straight lines. At night it is different anyways. That’s why a light is used while braking so that rear vehicles can see it as stopping.

Sit in a red light room and later cut ping pong ball in half. The receiver also wears a set of headphones through which white or pink noise (static) is played. Relax there for half an hour and you will experience many sensory distortions.

Afterimage

An afterimage or ghost image is an optical illusion that refers to an image continuing to appear in one’s vision after the exposure to the original image has ceased. Look at the plus sign in the image for 30sec and instantly look at a white field you will see the real image of the person or may be some color. Twinkling few times is ok, but dont close eyes for lengthy amount of time before looking a wall.

Disowning pain with binoculars

Its been said that pain will shrink when looked at it by an inverted binoculars. It seems distorting the image the brain perceives, can alter the pain of body if its injured.

Arranging two chairs one in front and other the rear as if facing the same direction. You sit in the rear chair and ask your friend to sit in front. Blindfold throughout the exercise. Put one hand on your nose and other on your friend’s nose. Tap both nose lightly for 30 sec and you will feel as if your nose is longer or as if its no longer connected to your body. 50% chance this works for most people.

Confuse your Legs

Lift your right foot a few inches from the floor and then begin to move it in a clockwise direction. While you’re doing this, use a finger your right index finger to draw a number 6 in the air. Your foot will turn in an anticlockwise direction and there’s nothing you can do about it!

The left side of your brain, which controls the right side of your body, is responsible for rhythm and timing. The left side of your brain cannot deal with operating two opposite movements at the same time and so it combines them into a single motion. Try this with your right foot and left hand and you should have no problem!
Confuse your Hands
This trick i learned when some 10 years ago in my school. May be little confusing for most people , but some can actually get around this. You try to move left hand in clockwise direction and right hand anti-clockwise. The brain will interfere and make both hands move in either clockwise or anti-clockwise direction.
Depth Perception
With creative manipulation of perspective, an image can appear to have 3-Dimensional depth. Check below image which is actually static but will appear as rotating.

Left Brain – Right brain and the Spinning Girl
Take a look at the spinning girl below. Do you see it spinning clockwise or counter-clockwise? I see it spinning counter-clockwise, and I had a hard time getting it to switch direction. Give it a try.
The spinning girl is a form of the more general spinning silhouette illusion. The image is not objectively “spinning” in one direction or the other. It is a two-dimensional image that is simply shifting back and forth. But our brains did not evolve to interpret two-dimensional representations of the world but the actual three-dimensional world. So our visual processing assumes we are looking at a 3-D image and is uses clues to interpret it as such. Or, without adequate clues it may just arbitrarily decide a best fit – spinning clockwise or counterclockwise. And once this fit is chosen, the illusion is complete – we see a 3-D spinning image.
Straight Punch and how mind perceives
This demonstration is just awesome and may help some grab the idea how mind perceives objects far and near.
